Transport on active rail

Acknowledgement Inspection Dutch Ministry of Transport and Public Works.

Rail vehicles should comply with the requirements mentioned in the new Rail Act. A part of these requirements concerns the compatibility of rail vehicles with the rail road infrastructure. These requirements have been formulated to ride on the infrastructure in a safe manner, without interruptions, or excessive wear or damage.

To proof a rail vehicle meets the above-mentioned rules the Dutch Minister of Transport and Public Works will issue a certificate of deployment. Issue of this certificate of deployment is based on the compatibility statement which will be issued by an inspection service after examination and approval.

HHC/DRS Inspecties has been acknowledged by the Dutch Ministry of Transport and Public Works as an inspection service to issue these Compatibility Statements for special vehicles (maintenance machines) and cars.

Also due to our extensive knowledge in this field we can easily be of service to you.

Work on inactive rail
As of 1 February, 2002 railinfra machinery is certified by the inspection agencies. HHC/DRC Inspecties has been acknowledged by the Raad voor Accreditatie (Council for Accreditation) (RvA) to perform these inspections and has for this purpose entered into an agreement with the Stichting TCVT (Organization for Vertical Transport).

Railinfra machines conducting activities on a rail which is out of order, are special vehicles which are able to drive on this rail with their own power and are purposely made for newly build, renewal or maintenance activities on the rail.

Examples of rainfra machines are:

  • rail - road vehicles
  • hydraulic  diggers with rail function
  • hydraulic arm, rail tower wagon
  • rail bound maintenance machines
  • independently driving trailer

Through years of experience and contacts with all the manufactures of railinfra machinery HHC/DRS Inspections is able to easily conduct these inspections and will be able to answer specific questions concerning the deployment of these machines in a professional manner.

Labor safety

It should be evident that employees should be able to work with machinery in a safe and healthy manner.

For this purpose agreements have been made on national and international level in the form of Resolutions and Directives.

HHC/DRS therefore assesses at every inspection whether the machine in question is in accordance with these Resolutions and Directives with the use of a European Standard, if applicable.
This will give you, the owner of the machine, an independent professional confirmation to which extent a machine can be worked with safely and ensures you to have complied with the legal requirements.

For specific questions we would like to refer you to the technical managers concerned of the various product groups, to be contacted via the adjoining contact form.
